The Panic in Needle Park (Jerry Schatzberg, 1971)

A woman is tightly holding the handrails on a subway. She appears to be in distress, with a bunch of people surrounding her, invading her space. She stares around, as if wishing to find a way out. When the train stops, people hastily get off; she holds onto the handrail, seeking protection. When everyone is out, she slowly takes a seat and shyly takes a look at the few people left around her, still showing signs of anxiety.
